WSHS Student Schedules are LIVE! Read info!

Greetings WSHS Families,

Student Schedules are NOW Live on Skyward Family Access!  The Student Services Department is looking forward to working with you and your student during their high school career. Your school counselors have a lot of great things planned for families and students. We are here to help your student gain success in high school and beyond!

The Student Services Department is working tirelessly. Please grant them patience and understanding as they respond to emails and phone calls, while working on schedules. We are asking that you and your student monitor their schedule in Skyward, during the week of August 1st through August 12th, as there may be changes due to meeting the capacity limit of courses. Counselors and administration are doing their best to ensure every student has a schedule on the first day of school. Counselors Availability: Counselors will be on campus and ready to assist WSHS families, by appointment only beginning August 4, 2022. Please contact your counselor to schedule an appointment.

Important information from the Student Services Department:

Counselors Availability:

Counselors will be on campus and ready to assist WSHS families, beginning Thursday, August 4, 2022.

Please email your counselor to schedule a time for a phone call, or an appointment if necessary.  Please be as patient as possible.  This is the busiest time of the year for our counselors! 

For the 2022-2023 School year, Winter Springs High School counselors will be assigned the following students:

Ms. Spence: All students with IEPs

Ms. Lash: All students in the IB or PreDP program and Last Names MO-RE

Ms. Durand: Last names A-FO

Ms. McBryde: Last names FR-MI

Ms. Urena: Last names RH-Z and all ESOL students

Schedule Changes:

Please note that not all schedule change requests can be granted but will be reviewed. Students must check prerequisites prior to requesting a course for their schedule change.

Please do NOT submit any schedule change requests via email. Counselors will not be accepting schedule changes via email.

The Schedule Change Form will be available on Monday, August 1, 2022, until Friday, August 12, 2022.

Modified Schedule Change:

WINTER SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL POLICY REGARDING STUDENTS WITH MODIFIED SCHEDULES: In order to have the privilege of an abbreviated schedule, students must adhere to the following: - Have no more than (5) unexcused absences during a 9-week period. - Maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. - Must have transportation that allows them to arrive late or leave early and MAY NOT transport other students. - Must check-out through attendance and show appropriate ID with class periods that are abbreviated. - Must have schedules with consecutive periods and no gaps. - Must have provided a signed parental consent to have an abbreviated schedule. - Must not be on campus during the school day during the periods they do not have a class. 

Students encountered on campus without administrative consent will be considered in violation of these understandings and will be  subject to disciplinary actions.

The Modified Schedule Change Form will be available on Monday, August 1, 2022, until Friday, August 12, 2022.

Dual Enrollment Information:

Please note that the June 30th deadline for Dual Enrollment application has passed. 

Spring 2023 Dual Enrollment applications will be available beginning November 14, 2022 and will end on November 30, 2022. Spring 2022 Dual Enrollment registrations will end on December 9, 2022. Please review the attached PPT to prepare for the Spring term.  Please refer to slide 12 or click on the link below to be directed to the SCPS dual enrollment link.  Follow steps 1-8 of the registration process.  Please ensure that testing requirements have been met according to the dual enrollment procedure as described in the PPT. 

Reminder: During the school year, schedule adjustments to reflect Dual Enrollment on the WSHS schedule will NOT occur until your Counselor has received your SSC class confirmation. 

Note: These signup procedures to not apply to the Dual Enrollment courses located on WSHS: Solar Science, College Success, College and Career Planning
