Dear Winter Springs Families:

I hope this message finds you enjoying the beginning of the school year and you are looking forward to some cooler weather that we all hope is approaching soon. At Winter Springs High School, we have been busy supporting our students and planning for a busy 2nd quarter! As I have done in previous articles, I will break down my article into sub-sections for your easy reading.

Thank you: I wanted to start this newsletter article with a simple THANK YOU to all of the WSHS community for all your patience, flexibility, and support through the start of this school year! I would also like to say a huge THANK YOU to our WSHS teachers and staff for the incredible work they are doing with meeting the needs of our students and families.

WSHS 9-Week Exam Schedules: We have sent all parents/guardians an email with all 9-Week Exam Schedules for the entire year! Please make sure you check that out and look on our school’s Facebook page for the information.

School Safety: We continue to urge our students and families to practice the phrase “See Something, Say Something” – Use the P3 Campus App, speakouthotline.org; or call 1-800-423-TIPS or FORTIFYFL www.getfortifyfl.com (suspicious activity reporting app)

Save the Date – Mark Your Calendars –Coming in November SCPS Safety Survey

Beginning October 30th, students in grades 4-12 will have the opportunity to take part in the SCPS Safety Survey. Your student’s input and comments are important.

Participation in the surveys provides valuable information on our school and helps to guide school improvement. Participant identities and survey responses are completely anonymous and will never be connected to your student.

The SCPS Safety survey will be administered online. To preview the questions that students will respond to: https://www.scps.k12.fl.us/.../assessment.../5essentials...

Who wants to Substitute Teach? WSHS Community: Many of our WSHS stakeholders have reached out to me whether in person, through email, or social media and have asked what the community can do to support Winter Springs High School. The answer to this question to this is easy: We need substitute teachers badly! Please, if you have time and you are willing, please consider being a substitute teacher on the campus of Winter Springs High School. WSHS Community: We need you help! Please visit this SCPS website and get the process starting if you can help. Also, if you can and do start the process, please email Mrs. DeBerry at [email protected] and keep her informed on when you will be ready to sub. Thank you so much for your consideration!
